Hon Rick Hou Highlights Easter Convention

The SMC Office said that straight after the Parliament Meeting the MP for Small Malaita Constituency, Hon Rick Hou travelled to his constituency on his usual touring program. The tour coincided with the Easter break which the leaders of the Asimae Association of SSEC invited him to speak at the Easter Convention at Halehau in Ward 23.

The statement  said that on his arrival Hon Rick Hou was escorted by the Halehau Panpipers to the church where he was welcome by the Pastor of Halehau Church and the Acting Chief Elder of SSEC Asimae Association.

“Thank you for being humble and for accepting our invitation. It is a great privilege to have you here with us despite your very busy schedule and so I am honoured to welcome you to this Easter Convention”, the pastor said.  Hon Rick in his reply thanked the Asimae Association for inviting him for the Easter Convention and for the warm welcome. The welcome ceremony was followed by the main church service on Good Friday morning.

The CDO who accompanied the MP reported that on Good Friday evening Hon Rick delivered a message based on the “Seven sayings of Jesus on the Cross” followed by a showing of the film “The Passion of Christ”. On Saturday Hon Rick made an awareness talk on his constituency development plans and a number of government programs. It concluded with an island feast hosted by Hon Hou’s family.

The statement added that the event was an opportunity for Hon Rick Hou to share the word of God with his people as well as to share his vision concerning the long term development plans for the constituency.
