Hon Rick Hou attends the Mala Mwaimwei Chiefs Summit

Hon Rick Hou was very honoured to attend the Mala Mwaimwei Council of Chiefs Summit which took place at Afio Station from 19 to 20 April 2017.

In a statement, the Ouou Inemauri of Mala Mwaimwei Council of Chiefs acknowledged the presence of Hon Rick Hou and his continuous support towards the Council of Chiefs meetings more especially for funding the current meeting.

The statement said that, in one of the sessions Hon Rick Hou made an awareness for the chiefs that based on the SMC Infrastructure Development Program 2010-2035. He used the opportunity to update the chiefs and community leaders on the progress of some of the major infrastructure projects he has been pursuing since he came to parliament.  

Fresh from the parliament meeting the MP also updated the chiefs and his people about some of the latest developments at the national government such as the traditional governance system, the land reform, the proposed new electoral system, CDF distribution and some aspects of the proposed Federal System, the statement said.

The statement added that chiefs who attended the meeting have noted that land dispute remain an obstacle for development and therefore reiterate the call for the chiefs to sort out their land boundaries and allow their resources for development in Mala Mwaimwei.
