Liwe
Industrial
Park

On
10th
November
 2011
Hon
R
 Hou
 convened
 a
 general
 meeting
 at
 Liwe,
 Su'upeine
 Bay,
 where
 he
 met community
 leaders
and
 land
owners
 in
 that
 area
 to
 explain
 and
 clarify
 certain
 issues
 relating
 to
 the
 proposed
 industrial
 park
 to
 be
 established
 at
 Liwe
 under
 the
 Israeli
 Economic
 Stimulus
Package
 to
 Malaita
 Province.

Hon
Hou
 explained
the
role
 of
 various
parties
and
interest
 groups
 in
 this
 proposal.
 He
 warned
 that
 community
 leaders
 must
 be
 careful
 not
 to
 mislead
 their
 people
 by
promising
 the
 world
 to
 them
with
 any
donor
assistance.
He
 assured
the
 people
that
this
proposal
 is
like
 the
beginning
 of
 a
 long
 journey
 which
 will be
 rough
and
 difficult
 and
 therefore
 will
 require
 dedication,
 commitment
and
 a
 lot
o f
hard
 work
on
the
part
 of
 all
 stake
 holders.
 He
 pointed
that
 there
 is
 a
 need
 for
 stronger
 consultation
 between
 all
 parties
more
 particularly
 between
 the
 office
 of
 the
 Israeli
 Consular,
 the
 national
 Government,
 the
 Malaita
 Provincial government,
 the
MCA
and
 SMCO.
 He
 said
 that
 he
 is
 encouraged
 by
 his
 people
 working
 together
 on
 this
 project
 and
 urged
 that
 they
 open
 up
 their
 resources
 for
 Development.
