Parasi airfield

As reported in Quarter 1, due to certain land issues, there was a set-back in the re-opening of the airport. Early this year, Mr C Honiola was unhappy about the signing of the lease agreement which he was not party to it, and he demanded certain other benefits which he claimed as principle landowner. During the quarter it
was believed these land matters have been sorted out, and we all await the appointment of a new agent by the airline so that flight schedule will start. However, at the time of writing this report, Mr. Honiola has once again issued threatening letters and demanded certain payments to be made to him by the Ministry of Civil Aviation. Any progress on this vital transport link is again stalled.
Hon R N Hou has expressed deep regret that this matter is not settled and warned that the government may abort plans to engage on this project.
